Day+West is thrilled to announce that we recently received The Conscious Beauty Collective Certification, which recognizes brands that adhere to rigorous standards. Documentation of EU compliance, which bans over 1,600 harmful cosmetic ingredients, was paramount. Certified brands must also support a cause, be vegan, cruelty-free, or Fair Trade minded, and demonstrate sustainable practices, such as using minimal, recyclable, or refillable packaging.
In skincare, "clean" or "conscious" are terms bandied about but rarely uniformly defined. To Day+West, clean means purposeful and safe ingredient selection, transparency, and values-driven choices.
We believe that clean and conscious beauty signifies products free from ingredients harmful to human health and with lesser impact to our environment. We follow a minimalist "less is more" approach, avoiding nasties like parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances and colors. Our products are also vegan and cruelty-free. We also avoid single-use plastic, virgin glass and paper - opting for post-consumer recycled materials wherever possible.
But our commitment goes further. We take a holistic approach to ingredient sourcing and formulation ethics.
We prioritize using organic, naturally-derived botanicals and COSMOS Eco-Cert ingredients, blending cutting-edge science with nature's wisdom. Our formulations include proven actives like niacinamide and bakuchiol alongside nurturing plant extracts and oils, creating effective products without harsh additives.
